The latest season, if you already own the first three. Invincible Season 4 picks up after the chaos of the Season 3 finale—which I won’t spoil, but let’s just say Mark is not okay. This season focuses on the aftermath of a major battle that cost him someone close. The tone is darker, more introspective. Mark spends a lot of time questioning whether he even wants to be a hero anymore. Meanwhile, new threats emerge: a villain who can control technology, a former ally who’s gone rogue, and something from space that might be worse than Omni‑Man. The animation this season is the best it’s ever been—the fight in episode 5 is a single continuous shot that must have taken forever to animate. My only complaint is that the season feels shorter than the others—only 7 episodes instead of 8. And one of them is a flashback episode that’s good but feels like filler. The finale ends on a quieter note than usual, which I appreciated after all the violence. But if you’re expecting a huge cliffhanger, it’s not there. That might be because they’re saving it for Season 5. We’ll see.
