When officer Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) finds his wife in bed with an alien, his life is turned upside down. After his divorce, he finally gets his own ship to command, the Orville: However, just as he's starting to think his life is finally taking a turn for the better, he finds out his ex-wife Kelly Grayson (Adrianne Palicki) has been assigned to the Orville as First Officer.
