Twenty-six years after the events of the first film, Cindy, Brenda, Ray, and Shorty find themselves face-to-face with the masked maniac once again. This time, the film takes aim at modern horror: remakes, sequels, “legacy” films, highbrow horror, and all the other trendy tropes of the genre. Marlon and Sean Wayans are back alongside Anna Faris and Regina Hall. As a result, the film aims to recapture the wild, carefree spirit of the first two movies rather than simply creating yet another horror parody.
Scary Movie was so good back in the day, and look how far off track it went... that had built up frustration which is now manifesting all at once in this magnificent return to the franchise's roots. No installment was meaner. None was darker. And for sure none was more black. A brilliant, passionate reckoning with the past... even though they never really left, the Wayans brothers are definitely back for good. Harder and better than ever.
And while Hollywood is still debating the issue, they are already gleefully, and filled with darkest humor, slaughtering their bloody way through the third dimension. Scary Movie 6 is pure fun the darkest kind... enjoy
