Season 4 of the best procedural you’re not watching. Will Trent follows a Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent who was abandoned as a baby and grew up in the foster system. He’s brilliant, obsessive, and has severe dyslexia that he hides from almost everyone. The show is based on Karin Slaughter’s books, and it captures her tone perfectly—dark, character‑driven, but with moments of real warmth. Series 4 picks up after the Season 3 finale, which left Will in a complicated place emotionally (I won’t spoil it). The cases this season are some of the show’s best: a serial killer who’s been operating for decades, a missing child case that hits close to home, and a mystery involving Will’s own past that finally gets some answers. The supporting cast is fantastic—Angie, Faith, Ormewood—and the show does something rare: it lets its characters grow and change over time. My only complaint is that the season feels a bit shorter than previous ones (only 8 episodes). But the quality is high. If you like gritty, character‑driven crime shows, this is for you.
